Ride Description

Mixed going: grassy tracks, some chalk and stony. Droves can be quite muddy at certain times of the year and hard at others! 400 yards on an A road (stewarded), otherwise minimal roadwork on quiet lanes.

Available at the venue. Stabling (paper bedding) £25 first night, £19 each subsequent night. Additional bedding, if required, must be paid for at Ride Office

facilites

Toilets, showers, St John Ambulance, Trail Riders, RAYNET, refreshments, camping, NO CORRALLING.. Accommodation (bring sleeping bags/duvet etc) £11 per person per night. Camping in tents £2 per person per night.

Special Instructions

Flu Vac Cert must be to Jockey Club Standard (see EGB handbook) and photocopy including Horse Identity page to be sent with entries - the original document to be shown on the day. The venue is a racecourse and therefore flu vaccination certificates must be acceptable to Jockey Club standards and must show ALL inoculations including primaries.

Please ensure sufficient postage applied on both SAE and your entry. Send payment for all stabling and accommodation with your entry - all payable to EGB. Refunds for stabling available up to closing date only, after this only applicable if able to re-allocate.
There will be an informal supper on the Saturday night for riders, crews and officials at a cost of £12 per person - please include payment with your entry - places limited and must be booked by the closing date for the ride.
IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT RE FUTURE OF THIS RIDE: For 23 years Valerie, Sue and Liz have successfully organised this popular late season ride at Salisbury Racecourse, but this will be their last year at the helm and Wessex is looking for a new team to take it on from 2009 onwards. The Racecourse is a great venue, there is a team of helpers and established routes for all distances already in place. New volunteers are needed, if the event is to continue - in the meantime, let’s have loads of entries for ALL classes this year!
